St. Mary’s Cathedral is located on Mall Road in the Jalandhar Cantonment area. It is affiliated to the province of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Delhi. It is a representation of the secular culture of India and was first built in 1847. In 1971, the church achieved the status of a cathedral. In 1987, Old cathedral was demolished and the foundation stone for the new cathedral was laid and was blessed by Pope John Paul II. The new cathedral was inaugurated on, 29 October 1989 as it was Sunday. It was Diwali a Hindu festival, its inauguration was marked the secular model of the country. Jakhoo Temple is an ancient temple in Shimla. This temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Hanuman. Legends have in it that once Hanuman has stopped here while he was in search of Jadibuti. This temple has the world's largest Hanuman statue, which is visible from many parts of Shimla. Statue was unveiled at Jakhoo temple on 4 November 2010 at the height of 2,455 m above the sea level. Jakhoo Hill is the highest peak in Shimla. One can reach there by foot, horse, and taxi or can use Ropeway.

Clothing essentials before traveling to Shimla: Bearing a temperate climate, cotton garments with light woolens are worn from April to October. Heavy woolens jackets and blazer, coats are required for the winter which begins to set in from November to last of March.
